We’ve got a smaller fair scheduled for the spring to keep the reading going all summer long!

FAQ:

Can I come and shop with my child when their class goes to the fair?

Yes! We LOVE having families come in and shop with their children during school hours. We will have shopping times posted here soon so stay tuned!

How much does a book cost?

Estimated costs of books at the fair:

  • Picture Book - $7-10

  • Easy Reader - $6-9

  • Chapter Book - $6-9

  • Graphic Novel - $15-20

  • Hardcover - $13-20

All purchases are subject to the appropriate taxes.

How much money should I send? And what’s the best way to send it?

Send whatever you feel comfortable sending and refer to the book price guidelines to help you determine what makes sense for your family. If you are anticipating giving your child a larger budget, EWallet is a safe way to make sure nothing gets lost or dropped. We accept cash, checks made out to the Chatsworth Ave PTA, credit cards and EWallet.

Can I volunteer to help with the fair?

If you would like to volunteer to help at the fair, send an email to Katie Bartley at katie.m.bartley@gmail.com.

EWallet

Give your child a safe, cashless way to shop at the Book Fair. This digital payment option can be used in-person, and funds can be added as needed. Any remaining funds will become a Gift Card balance that can be used online at Scholastic.com or at a future book fair. Unlike prior years, the remaining balance will NOT be refunded to your card (you can use it at the online store or on Book Club Orders). If you made a wallet last year, you should have the option to roll any leftover funds into your new wallet!

To learn more and set up an EWallet click here.

Don’t forget to PRINT your EWallet - you’ll get a confirmation email once you’ve funded your EWallet - click the link and then PRINT the balance and barcode to make shopping and checkout a snap. This is critical especially for the younger children who may not remember how much they have to spend.

Share The Fair

One of our Book Fair goals is always to ensure as many children as possible have access to books. One of the ways we can do that is through the Share the Fair program (formerly known as All for Books).

We pair with local charities and families in need to provide books to our community. Past Share the Fair partners have been Hope Community Services in New Rochelle, the Community Resource Center in Mamaroneck and as well as students across all schools within our district.

In support of Share the Fair, this year we will be rounding up at the register! When you make a purchase, the price will automatically be rounded up to the nearest dollar and we’ll put your coins towards Share the Fair. If your purchase is $15.50, you’ll be charged $16.00 and that $.50 will go towards Share the Fair!

Not only does your donation help our cause, but Scholastic Book Fairs® will match monetary donations with a donation of up to $1 million in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund, which distributes books to children in need through organizations such as Kids In Need Foundation, Delivering Good, and the National Center for Families Learning.

We can’t wait to see all that we can achieve together!

If you wish to opt out, please send a note with your child indicating you do not want to round up. Your child should present the note at checkout.
